Ijeoma Anastasia Igweatu, known publicly as Adazion IJ, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and prophetess whose musical career developed alongside a Christian ministry built around prayer, salvation, healing, deliverance, restoration, and revival. She is from Obeagwu 1 in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State and is the founder and leader of My Redeemer Liveth Zion Adoration Ministry, headquartered at Powerline Bus Stop, Ejigbo, Lagos. In a 2023 interview, she described the ministry as a praying ministry with branches in Imo, Abia, Enugu, Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Adazion traces her spiritual experiences to childhood. She says that at 12 she began hearing what she understood as the voice of God, while her mother had previously told her of a prophecy that the first child in the family would serve in God’s vineyard. At 17, according to her testimony, she began receiving more direct instructions concerning ministry. She has recounted early experiences involving prayer and water she was instructed to bless for people who were ill, including a young man who had ingested poison, her younger sister, and an uncle’s son. These accounts are presented as her personal testimony about the beginnings of her prophetic ministry.
Her public identity eventually developed around two names. She has explained that people in her ministry knew her as Sister Ijeoma when she was ministering prophetically, while Adazion was used when she sang. Around 2018 or 2019, she began using Adazion IJ more consistently, particularly on Facebook, after describing an experience in which she understood herself as a daughter of Zion.
Music subsequently became an important extension of that ministry. Her public profile grew around “Carry Me Dey Go My Husband House” in 2022 followed by “Okechi,” which was released as a single on March 7, 2023.
Her catalogue has continued to grow with predominantly Igbo-language gospel recordings including “Chim N’adi Ndu,” “Dalu Ezi Chim,” “Kporom Chim,” “Nde-Eri Atu Egwu,” “Oguguo M’obi,” “Zam,” “Idumeje,” “Nkume Ike,” “Ihe Nyiri Mmadu Omume,” “Ike Nkwu Aba Mba” and “Utu Gbawara Iyi.” Her digital catalogue also includes live worship recordings such as “Nwanyi Ma Obi Di Ya (Live)” and “Nwa Agu (Live).”
Beyond recording, Adazion has maintained a visible ministry and charitable programme. She has spoken about supporting widows, orphans and people facing medical and financial difficulties, while her ministry has also conducted outreach to hospitals, prisons and motherless-baby homes. Her public work therefore rests on two closely connected pursuits: prophetic and pastoral ministry, and a growing gospel catalogue through which she expresses worship, prayer, testimony and Christian faith in Igbo.
